Presentation Summary: Former EEOC Attorney (litigator) Richard Mrizek presents on explaining the process of a charge or other proceeding before the agency and what the agency expects from companies. Mr. Mrizek can also offer some tips on what is hot before the agency, what he sees the agency focusing on in 2024 and beyond from a forecasting perspective. Mr. Mrizek will also answer questions from “the crowd”.

Presenter: Richard J. Mrizek is of counsel in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including class litigation, trials, government enforcement actions, and conducting internal investigations. Richard also provides clients with preventive advice and counseling, focused on finding practical solutions to complicated legal problems. Before coming to Jackson Lewis, Richard was a trial attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he led the government’s litigation efforts on numerous class and individual cases. His EEOC litigation involved racial discrimination in hiring, class harassment claims, disparate impact in criminal convictions, sexual harassment, class failure to accommodate claims, and disability discrimination. Richard first-chaired several trials with the EEOC, winning substantial verdicts for the government and has administered settlements of large class cases. Richard has been a speaker at local and national conferences on issues involving federal anti-discrimination laws, including compliance under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
