Join us for an breakfast breakout session on April 18 from 8:30AM-10:00AM (Registration starts at 8:00AM). This session will cover “How to Design a Sustainable DEI Strategy” by Claudia Schabel of Schabel Solutions. You will have the option to attend either in-person or virtually.

After years of resourcing tactical and knee-jerk approaches to DEI that failed to move the needle forward – or worse, many organizations are finally asking themselves “What do we do now?”. The answer: Organizations need to invest in developing and implementing customized and robust organization-specific DEI strategies that achieve overall workforce, workplace – and marketplace – goals. This workshop explores the “nuts and bolts” of creating such strategies and making sure that they are sustainable – helping DEI practitioners, executives and other stakeholders feel confident in knowing what to do next. The outcome is learning a framework and gaining a template for designing your organization’s sustainable DEI strategy.

Claudia is the Founder, President and CEO of Schabel Solutions. She’s been on a 20-plus-year mission to raise awareness and consciousness about social justice. Born and raised in Brazil, Claudia lived and worked in Japan for five years prior to moving to the United States and earning a BA in International Relations from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Her approach as a sought-after diversity, equity and inclusion consultant combines over 20 years of DEI and human resources practitioner experience, largely with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, with her international, multicultural background. Her expertise and background positions her to offer impactful consulting, training and coaching services in the areas of DEI and cultural competency. Claudia was a commissioner on the City of Des Moines Civil and Human Rights Commission and now serves on the Iowa Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) State Council as the Director of Diversity.
