Duties and Responsibilities in HR:

  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly payroll and related reporting
  • Develop strategies for developing a talent pipeline and ensuring that local compensation strategies and performance evaluations are competitive to attract and retain top talent
  • Manage the hiring process including drafting and posting job openings, conducting phone interviews, scheduling, conducting and/or assisting with interviews, consulting supervisors on candidate selection and job offers
  • Prepare and process new hire paperwork along with conducting new hire orientation
  • Manage pre-employment screenings and scheduling
  • Ensure proactive employee communication plans on key changes to the business
  • Manage the employee coaching process including effective performance management and performance improvement programs
  • Advise team members and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, and procedures
  • Serve as the primary contact for workers compensation related programs and improvements
  • Communicating with production leaders for time keeping purposes and employee attendance

Duties and Responsibilities in Safety:

  • Developing and executing health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes, identify corrective actions and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Managing employee safety programs and incentives
  • Provide support for employees and managers in safety and health practices

Work Environment

This position includes the office and production environment.

Position Type

This is a full-time position, 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and 6:00am to 2:30pm on Friday, with occasional weekend projects.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Team-oriented to keep productive, efficient and on task
  • Multitasker who can work independently
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a time-based environment with the skills to handle multiple jobs of varying sizes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
  • Good organizational, leadership and motivation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledgeable about OSHA standards in regards to general industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, employee benefits, and state and federal employment laws
